Robert has finished the Wordsearch. I was a bit too quick in putting the Wordsearch on the blog as a word needed to be corrected and tonight some words had to get moved around a bit and the dashes are for the message (written in to know where to put dashes and will be deleted) Robert was still working on the Wordsearch when I put it on the blog so was not finished. It gave an idea anyway of an activity in progress and its going well. I tried to copy the Wordsearch onto my story but I think because the page is too big in my word document it needs to be made smaller to fit the smaller size page of the book as it would not copy properly the Wordsearch part. The words to look for copied alright. I scanned a men’s shirt for a Christmas present in the story To Be Friends. No emails today allowing permission. I will be making sure that all the stories and activities are proofread carefully before printing, keeps the mind active and can have someone else proofread and edit as well.  I took photographs of our old fence today. Have the steel etc for the fence which will be put up in the near future. Time for sleep. Bye regards Madonna

I have typed up the parent’s job interview page. In the story To Be Friends its about the two father’s that work as Stockbroker and Shunter. The activity means the reader interviews their parent/s what is their job, time worked, what tasks, clothing worn, tools and materials used and how do they help within the community with their job. It also gives more of an idea and interest in their parent/s workplace and they gather ideas for own work interests later in life. If unable to interview parent/s an Aunty, Uncle, other family member or friend is fine. Tonight I will be drawing a fish tangram. This is a fish shape that are made out of shapes and postage stamps will be stuck on  while whole, then the shapes are cut out and then put back together to make the tangram fish. The skills involved are eye/hand coordination, spatial awareness of shapes joining and also the stamps matching up. I will scan as a whole complete tangram ready for when the reader cuts the shapes and puts tangram back together. Very cloudy here is somewhat humid, hope we get some rain. Hope you enjoyed looking at the Prince Dirk Wordsearch yesterday on the blog – hyperlink and maybe have a go at finding the words.. All the best. Madonna

word find prince dirk 1 Robert has nearly completed the first wordsearch and has to change message at the bottom. I want to include every so often an activity from a story. Click on the hyperlink at the beginning of this blog for wordfind prince dirk 1 and it will download or click above on children’s challenge wordsearch. I also looked up baseball interactive games and some good sites are beginner level play.buildabear.com and funbrain. A bit more challenging to move player to hit ball on http://www.primarygames.com and different baseball activities on http://www.mlb.com.  We went to Charleville today for early Christmas lunch for Carer’s and family get together. Also ordered steel and chain wire, caps, black bigger round posts that go next to old gates. Other posts and cattle rails that go across get painted a red/brown. Chain wire (silver) and caps (silver) We want to keep fence more with style of house and how fence is but will be steel instead of wood as we have whiteants here that eat wood (they don’t like cyprus pine too much). Bye until tomorrow. Madonna
